ALPHA Computers · Compute

A separate machine for machine work.

Spin up a cloud computer on demand for each task: an isolated workspace where agents and background work run apart from your device. Your files persist, idle machines sleep, and everything wakes on demand when you return.

Look inside

Cover, then truth.

Move across the machine to dissolve the cover into what containment actually holds. A front-end illustration. Nothing runs here.

What you get

One task, one contained machine.

Each computer is a bounded workspace with its own files, tools, and record — governed by the same identity and control plane as the rest of the suite.

  • Isolated workspace

    Separate from your device

Agent work, builds, and background runs happen on the cloud computer — not on your laptop, not alongside unrelated work. Boundaries are declared per workspace and enforced throughout.

  • Your files persist

    Kept across sessions

Files, conversation, configuration, and publish history stay with the workspace. Step away for a day or a week; the work is there when you return.

  • Scoped access

    Only what the task needs

Network, files, tools, and credentials are granted per workspace under least privilege. Anything outside the grant requires a new, explicit approval.

  • Session record

    Reviewable after the fact

Actions and changes on the machine are recorded as they happen. When the task ends, the computer can be closed while its record is retained for review.

Lifecycle

Awake while you work, asleep while you rest.

Computers follow your attention. Active work stays responsive; idle machines rest without losing anything.

  • 01 · Awake

    Working state

While you, an automation, or an approved agent is active, the computer stays awake and responsive inside its declared scope.

  • 02 · Asleep

    Resting state

When activity ends, the computer sleeps to release shared capacity. Files, history, and configuration are kept — nothing is discarded by sleeping.

  • 03 · Wake

    Wakes on demand

Reopen the workspace, resume a schedule, or approve a waiting step and the computer wakes on demand, resuming from its kept state.

Single-active discipline

One active workspace keeps cost and attention honest.

Each task gets one active workspace at a time. This is framed as cost control as much as safety: attention is never split across hidden contexts, and shared capacity is never consumed by work nobody is watching.

Need to switch tasks? Sleep the current workspace — kept intact — and wake the next one. The record shows where each one stands.

Fair use

Shared capacity, plain expectations.

Computers draw on capacity shared across the suite. Fair use keeps that capacity available for active, approved work:

  • Idle workspaces sleep; kept files and history are unaffected
  • Waking is tied to a person, a schedule, or an approved step
  • Closing a finished workspace retains its record for review
  • Scope widening always requires a new explicit approval

Control commitments

The machine obeys the same discipline.

Compute without control is just someone else's server. Read the philosophy for the full thesis.

  • 01

    Human in command

Waking, scope changes, and consequential actions wait for a person. Idle machines never act on their own.

  • 02

    Contained by design

Permission jails per workspace: minimum files, network, tools, and credentials. Close the computer and the work stops.

  • 03

    Auditable always

Sleep, wake, access grants, and actions are recorded as they occur, so any session can be reconstructed step by step.
